FAMILY OF THE MONTH

October 2019 - The Falkers

Our first ever C.A.V.E. Family of the Month is the Falkers. They started in C.A.V.E. during the 2012-2014 school year. They have 5 children enrolled in our school, however they have had 6 in the past. The Falkers have had children in each grade, Kindergarten through 12th grade. Their family is interested in farming, both crop and beef cattle. Their operation is big, 4,500 acres and everyone works together to take care of the farm operations. Last year they had 350 calves born. They were mostly Angus.

Their favorite part of C.A.V.E. is the staff. The teachers genuinely care about their students and they try their best to help them succeed. As a parent, Mrs. Falkers does not enjoy teaching writing, so she is thankful to have other teachers step into that role. The Falkers also appreciate having teachers that can take time to listen to the younger children read orally. The oldest son likes to be able to earn credit through the Work Study program. They also enjoy the flexibility in curriculum choices.
