CAVE's Mission

Our vision is to empower students to become lifelong learners by giving them ownership of their learning.

It is WHAT's NEW WEDNESDAY, September 28th edition . . .

1) Our next CAVE Governance Board meeting is next week on Monday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. online (via Zoom). We are in need of more board members. The meetings are around an hour long and we only meet every other month. If you can help us out, we would love to have you join us. Email us ( to get a link to the meeting.

2) Our clubs are now up and running. Mrs. Ranis has a new Middle School (Thursdays) and High School (Tuesdays) get-togethers as a time to meet other CAVE students. Here is a list of our clubs and the advisors. Just email an advisor if you are interested in try it out!

3) As we start up a new month, Mr. G is hosting another Kahoot Trivia game on Friday, October 7th at 2:00 p.m.. Email him if you would like to play the game. This is open to all students, parents and staff!

4) We are still enrolling new students. If you know someone who might be interested in joining our program, please share our website ( as well as contact our CAVE office at 715-458-5611.

Uploading Evidence for Pre-K through 3rd grade students

Miss Lisa and Miss Wendy met with a few of our new families to walk through our program and show how to upload evidence into our CAVE evidence folder. UW - Eau Claire Virtual Tour with Shawn Larson

Mr. Shawn Larson from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire (and Barron County) has offered to set up a series of SUPPORT SYSTEM WEBINARS to help students, parents, guardians and advisors navigate their way into college. The first of these is focused on the Admission Process and Timeline. It will take place on September 13th from 6-7:00 p.m. (online). The second on is focused on Financial Aid and Paying for College on October 13th, 6-7:00 p.m. (online). The final webinar is focused on Encouraging Independence and Supporting Your Student on November 8, 6-7:00 p.m. (online). You can sign up on any or all of these webinars at:

Western Technical College Open House on October 5th

Western Technical College is one of those that a lot of CAVE Seniors go to for their dual enrollment credits. Their open house is on Wednesday, October 5th from 4-7:00 p.m. You can register for this event at:

CAVE students who have 1 or fewer core credits remaining can apply for up to 9 credits per semester (18 credits total) at a Wisconsin higher education program. You should plan at least 3 months in advance to set up the paperwork between the institution and the CAVE Office. If you have any questions, contact Mr. Griffith or check out our CAVE Policies.

We are hosting an exciting series of Support System Webinars just for you and other members of students’ circles – parents, guardians, advisors, etc. – no matter where their student is looking to attend college. 2018 WDLC Teacher of the Year

Our own Sarah David is one of 5 WDLC Teachers of the Year. Sarah received this award because of her support in helping and teaching students. She is also an AWESOME Colleague. Congratulations Sarah! It is very well deserved!

2017 WDLC Teacher of the Year

Our own Janean Ranis is one of 5 WDLC Teachers of the Year. Janean received this award because of all the extra work she does keeping our WEN (Wisconsin E-School Network) system up and running for our students and staff. She also mentors our teachers and work with WEN support staff to fix any issues that arise. She has been a valuable member of our program. Congratulations Janean! It is very well deserved!

What are we?

We are a PUBLIC SCHOOL and we follow all state statutes governing public education. We receive public funds for our operations, and we follow the fiscal rules established by the State of Wisconsin.

We are a CHARTER SCHOOL authorized by the Cameron School District Board of Education. Our chartering document is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. We follow all state and federal guidelines established for charter schools.

We are a VIRTUAL SCHOOL where students take all or part of their educational studies online. We actively utilize technology as a learning tool in our virtual environment. We follow the guidelines established by the State of Wisconsin for virtual schools
