HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT OF THE MONTH

October 2021 - Amber S.

Our CAVE staff nominated Amber as our October High School Student of the Month because of her continued growth in CAVE and how hard she works in her classes. We are so proud of her and her achievements.

Amber's favorite hobbies are playing the French horn, 18th century sewing, and finding frogs. She also plays and officiates soccer and enjoys the outdoors.

Amber likes our CAVE program because she is able to work one on one with our CAVE teachers. She also likes the flexibility to follow your own interests with your coursework.

Amber's advice to someone new coming into our CAVE program is to "work as hard as you can and learn as much as possible from our teachers. They are here to help you and they just want you to succeed." Amber also mentioned that students should take advantage of the lesson stipends. She has used her stipend to get extra French horn lessons from a professor.

This fall Amber is learning about our national governing systems and reading classic literature in English. After graduating, Amber is hoping to become a surgical first assistant.

Congratulations Amber on being our High School Student of the Month and thank you for choosing C.A.V.E..

MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT OF THE MONTH

October 2021 - Benny P.

Our CAVE staff nominated Benny as our October Middle School Student of the Month because he has been turning heads with his effort and quality of work that he is turning in. Benny is easy to work with and asks a lot of good questions.

Benny is a reader and loves to read, especially "The Lord of the Rings". Benny also likes Algebra, especially the absolute inequality problems. Benny likes Math the most as it is a big part of his future career plans. Those plans include becoming a Civil Engineer who is able to design bridges.

Besides school, Benny likes to watch TV with his parents and he is into Sci-Fi and Murder Mystery shows. He also loves playing board games. His favorite game to play is Axis and Allies.

When asked what he likes most about our CAVE program, he stated he likes "the wonderful support from the teachers, who are always ready to answer questions. It is also very nice not to have class periods, allowing me to work longer on the subjects that are tough for me." Benny also likes the idea that he is allowed to work ahead in classes that he is more comfortable with.

Benny's advice to other students is to work ahead (especially early on in the year). That way, if you get sick or busy, you can spend some time on whatever you need without getting behind and causing extra academic stress.

Benny is also interested in our many clubs that CAVE offers. He hopes to get involved with our Stock Market Club, Book Club, as well as our STEAM Club.

Congratulations Benny on being our Middle School Student of the Month and thank you for choosing C.A.V.E..
