September 2018

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

September 2018 is Annika W.

CAVE staff nominated Annika because she is always reaching for the stars, literally! She is calm, collected, organized, fun and smart. One teacher remarked that they have never seen another student like her.

Annika has been in the CAVE program for 6 years. She loves flying, figure skating and working with her Civil Air Patrol Squadron.

Annika's favorite classes are Science and Foriegn Language, specifically Physics and Russian. She plans on attending the Air Force Academy next fall and study either Aeronautical or Astronautical Engineering. After serving in the military as a pilot, she hopes to pursue a civilian career in Space Science.

When asked what she would tell new CAVE students, she responded that they need to "find out what mkes them motivated and use it. Self-motivation is the most important tool that I have found in online learning!"

Annika is a member of our new Cave Honor Society. This club focuses on Character, Leadership, Service and Scholarship. Annika's Honor Society service project is to teach model rocketry to the Boys and Girls Club of Eau Claire.
