Academic and Career Planning

State ACP (Academic and Career Planning) Requirements

The State of Wisconsin has set up the requirement of Career Planning back in 2017.  The following is the basic information regarding this State Statue:

Act 20, Wisconsin Statute 115.28(59)

CAVE's Work Study

CAVE does have a Work Study class where students can earn 0.5 elective credits per semester.  Besides turning in a monthly log using Google Classroom, students have to first turn in a registration form.  At the end of the semester, students also need to have their supervisor turn in a 10 question evaluation and the student needs to turn in a 10 question self-evaluation of their job.

If you are interested in taking this course, please contact Mr. Meznarich to sign up.

Xello . . . What is it?

Xello is a free tool, provided by the State of Wisconsin as a tool to help promote and meet our 6th - 12th grade ACP requirement.

Although there are many avenues that we can take, CAVE has decided to incorporate a simple and straight forward plan that has students do 4 assignments each academic year that is geared towards the level each student is at.

Similarly, CAVE has offered more applications, including Match Making and Learning Styles that are very helpful to help students discover what they are interested in and what they are good at.

If you have not logged in yet or if you can’t remember your password, goto XELLO.WORLD and click on the SIGN IN link.  Once there, go to HAVING TROUBLE SIGNING IN Link.  There you enter your CAVE email address and you will receive a link from Xello where you can put in any password that you would like.  It will also give you a CAMERON - ####### number, which will be your username.  Please write that down and use it with the CAMERON -  to log in again.  If you forget that number, I can get it for you.

Once you are in Xello, we request you do the 4 assignments assigned to each student by grade level.  These assignments are broken up into a 6-12 program.  Students are also welcome to take the two short surveys, MATCHMAKER (which sorts through what possible careers you might be good at based on your interest inventory), and LEARNING STYLES  (which sorts through and lets you know how you learn best).

You are welcome to check out other features as well on your own.  If you have any questions, please email  Mr. Meznarich!

Similar to Xello, you can also check out MY NEXT MOVE for more information about what to do after high school.

If you want to talk to someone about what options are avaialble to you after high school or where to get started, please email Mr. Meznarich to set up a meeting.
