Welcome to CAVE's

Elementary School Program

Letter to  future CAVE Elementary School Students and Families:

Thank you for having interest in our Cameron Academy of Virtual Education (CAVE) program.  I would like to welcome you and tell you a little bit about our elementary school program.

We have a Pre-K through 5th grade elementary school program.  Mrs. Lisa Trude (Miss Lisa) teaches our Pre-K & K grades.  Mrs. Wendy Lindloff (Miss Wendy) teaches 1st through 3rd grades.  Mrs. Gina Holter (Miss Gina) teaches 4th through 5th grade as well as 6th & 7th grade English and mMathematics.

Miss Wendy has provided a few "How to" videos to help new (and some returning) families with some main questions about our program.  Check them out here to find some help . . .

Our program focuses on being flexible, innovative and personalized.  What that means for our elementary school program is that we are able to provide project based learning at a schedule that works for each family.  Families will be provided with appropriate materials and supported by our CAVE staff to allow families to facilitate the teaching and learning of each of their children.  This is what sets our school apart from other programs.

This year we will be updating our ENCORE classes of Art, Music and Spanish.  We are going to move to all students in grades K - 5 meeting for Encore Hour (half hour), where they would meet on Tuesday - Spanish,  Wednesday - Art, and Thursday - Music from 11 to 11:30 starting October through March.  We need families to commit to these classes so we can order the supplies.  We are excited about being able to offer these classes for our students!

If you have questions or concerns, please give us a call.  We would love to hear from you.

Sincerely,

John Meznarich, CAVE Administrator

Our Elementary School

All of the curriculum choices below require parent supervision during the school day (5-6 hours each day, 3-4 hours for Pre-K) and help from parents.  Some choices require more planning on the part of the parents.  Curriculum marked ** requires less planning from parents, however supervision and guidance is still required.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in our new Encore classes of Art, Music and Spanish this year as well.

Each individual student can apply for a stipend (up to $300 a year) to be used for discretionary funds for other lessons such as piano, karate, swimming, etc..  Students must be with us an entire semester before these fund are available though.  Please contact the CAVE Office to get this stipend set up.
